Initial discussion on whether to go through motions for amendments, decided that as no-one had properly gone through them to hold off until next meeting (NB// actually looking at dates this means we miss the April IB - is it okay to go in for the next one?)

I: As it turns out, everyone hates the head teacher and union rep is getting their act together, which is all quite exciting.
Joa: Royal Mail closures in pipeline, including Rathbone place which is to shut by 2012, and they refuse to give details on jobs. Was going to do a canteen sit-in to demand answers (how'd that go?)
V: Left slate did okay in student elections but not much interest in going further than that. Has suggested SU campaign against cuts but thinks answer will be a long time coming.

North East/West London SF

One reason for South London dynamism (yeah yeah don't get big heads over there) is geographic - mostly all around same place which makes doing stuff much easier while we're more strung out. Suggestion that North London go east/west to facilitate local activity and growth. Discussion points:
- Atm larger numbers at meetings producing more activity overall and keeps morale high, possibility that split at this point would create two tiny/unsustainable groups.
- But might also open door for people who want something more localised/don't want to travel to get together and drive growth that way.
Tentative process - a "controlled split" after Nat Conf is out of the way, where N London continues to meet monthly and then has the other fortnightly meeting localised to see if it grabs people. If it seems to work and east/west groups are functioning/growing, formalise. Kind of rubs up against constitution but we ARE having the meetings as North London, just in two different places ;).
