The Red represents the workers’ movement. We belong to the global class of people who work to produce all the goods and services in the world but receive only a fraction of the rewards. Through collective action, mutual-aid and solidarity we seek to empower the oppressed, to improve our lives and ultimately to end the exploitative relationships that dominate our society so that we can create a world where everybody everywhere can enjoy the benefits.
The Black represents anarchism: the commitment to organising ourselves while making our own choices about how we lead our lives, resisting attempts to control and exploit us. Working people have all the skills, knowledge and ingenuity in the world, we don’t need to look to leaders, states or institutions to tell us what to do. Working together freely we can take matters into our own hands, create, make decisions, find solutions and build a future for all.
The Solidarity Federation is an anarcho-syndicalist union, the section of the International Workers Association in Britain.
We stand in solidarity with workers in this country and around the world, regardless of their origin, against all forms of exploitation and oppression - including racism, xenophobia and nationalism.
