SLSF Meeting Minutes 17/02/11
Attendance: Alan, Rastko, Phil, Marta, Martin, Jimmer, Alex.
- Previous minutes– Marta is incorrectly spelt Martha.
- Secretary & Treasurers reports–
T: £503 in the bank but we owe national subs. Phil will donate £100 from weekend work.
Alan has started paying subs. Marta will pay next time.
Martin is checking PO Box – no statements.
S: ACTION: Alan to try and get new squat in Brockley as an alternative meeting venue.
ACTION: Martin to write back to Dominic.
Decided to have a double discussion meeting – 1. Eclipse and re-emergence of communist movement 2. Tony’s discussion piece. (see attached)

- Matters Arising
a) Weekend School – Jimmer’s going
b) National Conference –
ACTION: Alan to work on a discussion proposal around geographically and linguistically isolated members.
ACTION: Martin to flesh out SelFed proposal deferred from online conference.
ACTION: Rastko to write an online security discussion proposal.
c) Social – Going ahead with 24th Feb – Alan to book.
d) March 26th TUC - Jimmer suggests a Libcom feeder march from Elephant & Castle – mixed feelings from local.
e) SUF (Syndicalist Youth Federation) Conference in Sweden on 25-27 March – No takers.
f) AWL, SF – Labour Law – Good idea, some of us would attend
g) Web delegate – ACTION: Jimmer is web delegate.
h) Lewisham Carnival Against Cuts 19th – Leaflet done, banner done, wigs worn.
i) 22nd Feb - Brendan Barber and Archie Norman at Goldsmiths
Alan wants to make a banner. ACTION: Rastko to write a leaflet.
j) Carlos' workplace – UPDATE – Senior management have caught on before we could send a letter and are taking steps against rogue manager. We may need to take action (quicker this time!) if all workers aren’t given correct pay from before.
K) Aktivix training – 2/3 April prospective dates.
10. Individual Reports– Phil – Has dirt on a supervisor.
Rastko – is union rep “for a month”, lots happening.
Alan – hoping to organise education workers. Dispute with JobCentre ongoing.
11. AOB
The Commune meeting – they want us to give a talk about A-S, Jimmer is organising.
Dan AF – will get more info in 2weeks.
