In mid 2025 it came to the attention of Solidarity Federation (SolFed) in London that transphobes were organising in the workplace under the banner of the Sex, Equality, and Equity Network (SEEN). A brief look at SEEN made it clear that this network was “gender critical”, or transphobic, but attempting to hide it behind a mask of fake feminism and liberal civility. London SolFed did some additional research into SEEN and produced a report for the wider federation in November 2025. This is a lightly edited version of that report for wider consumption.

We see their rainbow flags, and we do not buy the act. Our bosses kill us [4], force us into poverty [5], and sexually harass us [6]. They steal our time, the best parts of our minds, our bodies and lives. 

They waste our very selves on shit that doesn’t matter, just to make us earn the right to live [7]. As queer workers, we feel a special kind of fury when the boot on our throats has a rainbow sticker on it. And if we’re queer, they pay us less. ...

LGBTQ+ people in the UK and across Europe still face discrimination in all aspects of everyday life, according to a survey conducted last month by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA). The survey, the largest of its kind ever conducted, focused on the social experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex people in 30 European countries, and found that little progress has been made over the past few years.

Compared with a similar FRA survey from 2012 the number of LGBTQ+ people in the UK who say they have been harassed in the past five years has risen from 55% to 62% - six points higher than the European average. The number of people in the UK who say they have been violently attacked at least once has gone up by nine points.

SolFed will be going along to this year's Happy Valley Pride to celebrate. We have prepared the following statement for the event.

On June 28th in the year 1969 the neighborhood of Greenwich Village burst with anger

With all the world-wide Pride events taking place, it's easy to forget where and how it all began. The Stonewall Riot in NYC occurred during the year 1969, when continued police harassment at The Stonewall gay bar in Greenwich Village prompted the community to fight back. In the days that followed, thousands of people came out to protest police brutality and inequality for gay people.

SolFed members were among the thousands of people who gathered for this year's annual Pride event in Liverpool. Member's of the Liverpool local joined other anarchists and radical workers for the march through the city centre and, despite occasional downpours of heavy rain and a small group of miserable Christian counter-demonstrators, the atmosphere was upbeat and vibrant. We were also there to show solidarity with LGBT comrades facing state repression in Russia, particularly in Moscow where Pride has been banned for the next 100 years by the authorities.
