Yesterday we delivered a letter to the company ALL3 in London on behalf of our comrades in the Serbian Anarcho-Syndicalist Initiative (ASI). ALL3 in Serbia have taken advantage of a worker’s precarious immigration status, ultimately leading to their wrongful dismissal, and we stand in solidarity with our comrades against this unfair treatment. Full letter below:

Far Right, racist liars have been out in our working class communities throughout the country lying to people about refugees and asylum seekers being the problem for worsening conditions? The far right along with the media, are playing their usual dirty tricks of dividing working class people through their racist lies and propaganda!
Migrants have always worked here especially in the NHS and in other low paid jobs.

While Refugees and asylum seekers, are forced to leave their countries because of war, conflict persecution, murder, rape and extreme poverty. They have nothing but the clothes on their backs, they are the victims of this rotten system that’s only interested in power and making profits for the rich few!

By the way, Britain is the sixth richest country in the world and yet people are on streets homeless and destitute?

Working class people suffer through the cost of living?

While those in power are living in wealth and luxury?

Manchester Solfed supporting the demo against the hostile environment and detention of migrants, organised by Queer Support for Migrants, outside the detention centre at Manchester Airport Yesterday. The action was part of a series of decentralised, local actions taking place last weekend around the country, coordinated around the slogan ‘Solidarity Knows No Borders’

Last Tuesday, December the 18th, Liverpool-SolFed joined the protest called for by Liverpool Migrant Solidarity Network.

On International Migrants Day, we joined our voices for the closing down of Detention Centers and an end to deportations. Probably the most extreme aspect of the “hostile environment” that the UK is using to demonize and target vulnerable people.

Manchester Solfed's guide for migrants coming to Manchester has been republished with a updated edition for November 2017.

The guide contains information to help new migrants settle in the city. While focusing on Manchester, much of the guide will be useful to people living anywhere in the UK.

Available in English and Spanish, the guide can be downloaded in pdf format from the links below, paper copies will also be distributed around the city.

We are currently working on a translation into Portugese and we are producing a version for smartphones.

The media has recently been escalating the migrant bashing with the claims that health tourists are plunging the NHS into crisis by not paying their bills.

This distracting technique pulls our gaze away from the more obvious strains the NHS is facing. With flat lining NHS funding (although the government are putting “more” money in this is not inline with increasing inflation and demand), cuts in social care, along with crippling Private Finance Initiatives (PFI) with extortionate interest rates and massive management consultancy fees, there is no wonder health services are finding that there is not enough money.

Byron Burgers acted despicably when they collaborated with the Home Office to deport their workers during a fake training event on July 4th. After the story broke from Spanish language newspaper El Iberico a number of groups and unions with Byron worker members have organised and called for action against Byron (see list below)

In a joint leaflet we demand:
no more threats to staff by immigration enforcement!
no discrimination against migrant staff members.
no to exploitative pay and conditions.

BREXIT: implicaciones para ciudadanos europeos en el Reino Unido

Primero: DON’T PANIC. Probablemente no se produzca ningún cambio radical hasta dentro de dos años. Por ahora, los ciudadanos del Espacio Económico Europeo pueden vivir y trabajar en Reino Unido si están ‘economically active’, es decir trabajando o buscando trabajo. Dentro de dos años la situacion será mas incierta y dependerá de las negociaciones y acuerdos entre Reino Unido y la Unión Europea.

Es por ello, que este texto se dirige a aquellas personas que tienen previsto establecerse por muy largo plazo en el Reino Unido. Específicamente, más allá del verano de 2018. Ten en cuenta que solicitar esta documentación puede afectar a algunos derechos en tu país de origen, por ejemplo el derecho a la asistencia sanitaria en caso de retorno. Aseguráte de evaluar todos los pros y contras antes de tomar esta decisión.
