There will be an anarchist bloc at the upcoming October 4th march to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street. During this battle, people from all over London came together to drive the British Union of Fascists and the police that protected them out of the east end. This was made possible by decades of previous organising in workplaces and the community that built working class solidarity, including between migrant Jewish garment workers and migrant Irish dock workers.

It’s bookfair time again! Well, well, well, just when you think society cannot become more debased, news comes along that Laura Johnson has been appointed permanent Director of Development and Property at the Barnet Group, which manages the borough's 13,000 council homes. This is the same Laura Johnson who, as Director of Housing at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, played a principal role in the cost-cutting that led to the Grenfell fire.

There will be two linked actions happening on the 26th of October. First, there is a call-out to all workers in the London and surrounding areas to help extend solidarity with members of the UVW during upcoming strike. Over 70, mainly migrant, security guards who are UVW members and employed by Wilson James across the Natural History and Science Museums have returned an overwhelming vote (96%) in favour of strike action following a recent ballot.
