Tenants of all kinds are exploited in numerous different ways in Liverpool and beyond, whether it’s poor living conditions, rising rents, rip off agency fees, unsuitable, unsafe, or overcrowded accommodation, indifference from landlords, harassment, eviction, or often, a combination of these factors. We were experiencing much of this ourselves, and wanted to find ways to fight back.
Tom Brown’s “Trade Unionism or Syndicalism” written in 1942 is a clear, to the point, essay explaining the bankruptcy of reformist, bureaucratic trade unions. The unions are a safety valve for the bosses, to control and misdirect workers actions through “representatives”, parliament and the legal system.
The unions, not the rank and file but the hierarchy, are part of capitalism, not wanting to abolish class society and the state, but rather have partnerships and deals with the state and employers! More often, workers find themselves fighting the union officials as much as fighting the employers!

Far Right, racist liars have been out in our working class communities throughout the country lying to people about refugees and asylum seekers being the problem for worsening conditions? The far right along with the media, are playing their usual dirty tricks of dividing working class people through their racist lies and propaganda! Migrants have always worked here especially in the NHS and in other low paid jobs.
While Refugees and asylum seekers, are forced to leave their countries because of war, conflict persecution, murder, rape and extreme poverty. They have nothing but the clothes on their backs, they are the victims of this rotten system that’s only interested in power and making profits for the rich few!
By the way, Britain is the sixth richest country in the world and yet people are on streets homeless and destitute?
Working class people suffer through the cost of living?
While those in power are living in wealth and luxury?
Anarcho-syndicalism is a working class movement based on the class struggle fighting against the rich and powerful and the state. It aims to unite all workers in economic combative organisations (revolutionary syndicalist unions) with the conscious goal of the reorganisation of social life on the basis of libertarian communism.
Our dispute against YPP Lettings has been closed after the tenant accepted an improved offer, a reduction in rent of 22% (or £660). The letting agency made an offer before any direct action was needed, although we had declared our intent to undertake such action.
Liverpool Solidarity Federation was contacted by a tenant of Gravity Residence. Due to the pandemic she had to move back to her family home, leaving behind all her belongings in the apartment. Since then, she had tried to reach a sensible agreement with YPP to finish her tenancy earlier. The YPP position was unreasonable, they offered a shameful 5% deduction from her total amount if she paid all the amount by the beginning of April.
A week after the closure of all hospitality business, the workers of Pub Invest Group from Liverpool got bad news.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, they were not able to give any hours to their workers as they don’t have the resources to cover their staff wages. They did, however, wish best luck to all their workforce and to see them back soon when they open again.
Pub Invest Groups owns some of the most popular night pubs in the central area of Liverpool such as Einsteins, Moloko or McCooley’s. As it is common in the hospitality industry, they show their appreciation for their staff with low-pay and job insecurity.
Universal credit is a direct attack by the government on us, ordinary working class people.The new benefit system makes it harder to apply and hides a cut on the rates. UC will affect not just unemployed but employed!
Universal credit hurts kids, the disabled, part timers, child carers the sick and elderly. The ammount of people demanding for charity food and of women resorting to prostitution has increased in those areas in which universal credit has been introduced. Also, UC can increase women vulnerability in some relationships, as money is paid to one partner.
